Recycling in Hawaii

recycle center

At many schools here in Hawaii, the little white trailer above is becoming a common site. This a picture of the recycling center in front of Iroquois Point Elementary school.

In addition to being good for the environment, putting in a recycling center allows the schools to raise money by receiving a portion of the profits from all items recycled in their bin.

I know that separating out cans, bottle and newspapers can be a bit of pain. But, it’s really something that we should be doing … and knowing that I can also help my kid’s school at the same time makes it a little easier to find the motivation to put in the effort.

Do you recycle?

Aloha,
Todd
