Aloha, this is my take on life in paradise. From the perspective of a military weather forecaster who's lived in Hawaii for 10 years.

I would also like to add that Holly Jackson (my second grade teacher) was and is the best teacher I have ever had in my whole life. Her daughter is also named Kiley just spelled different. But that isn't the reason why she is so great it is because she was the nicest and sweetest teachers of all time. I hope one of your children had her or will have her.

Hi, i went to IPES when i was younger and i loved it. It is 48 years old and has been there since the housing has been there. It has a lot of history and i really miss it. I can remember the Jump It day when we got to jump rope all day and hang out with teachers and friends. The gingerbread house making day and the Teck Track. Your children will really like the school.

Hi Carolyn,

You're very welcome. I know exactly what you mean about the memories. I lived over on Hickam AFB when I was a kid. I should probably drive over there one of these days to get a few pictures for myself. The schools I attended I'm sure will be there for a while. But, I just found out recently that the house I lived in when I was a kid is already abandoned, and is scheduled to be torn down soon ... kind of sad ... but understandable ... that was a long time ago.

Thank you for the pictures of Iroquois Point Elem School, lots if memories there. School days are always special. My daughter won a "Lei Day" lie making contest one year. It's funny how everything changes, nothing stays the same, but so much remains the same...............great pictures, thanks.
