Hawaii Picture of the Day - Plumeria

By todd • on April 5, 2008

Plumeria

The Plumeria is a popular flower here in Hawaii. They grow pretty much everywhere. They come in a variety of colors … the most prevalent seem to be white, yellow and pink. Plumeria are often used to make homemade lies here in Hawaii. Next time you’re at the airport, I bet you’ll see a few in yours.

This is the seconds installment the Alohateam.com “Picture of the Day” … a two fold effort to provide additional content for this blog, as well as encouraging me to take my camera with me more often when I go out. If you have any picture requests, feel free to shoot me a note through the contact form.

Aloha,
Todd

The best thing about plumeria is their fragrance, in a large lei, with a small wahine!
P.S. Like your layout here.

Hi Mike,

Thanks. Lol, speaking of small wahine, the main reason I know anything about this flower and leis is because my daughters went on a kick a couple of years ago collecting flowers from all over the neighborhood, then stringing them together.
