Continuing on with one of my mini-themes here on this this blog … military aircraft
Today’s Hawaii Picture of the Day is an OH-58D flying over Wheeler Army Airfield. This is also the main aircraft that I supported last year when I was in Iraq.
Aloha til tomorrow,
Todd
Today’s picture of the day is probably going to be a bit more meaningful to me than some of my readers … but hey, it’s my blog so from time to time I get to make a “personal” post.
This is my friend TSgt Estepfany Allen who along with my other friend Najimah Jones left this [...]
Today’s Hawaii Picture of the Day is of a different kind of bird; an Air Force KC-135. Honolulu International Airport and Hickam Air Force Base share the same runways, and the approach path for both takes the aircraft right over Iroquois Point …
The downside is obvious; the noise can sometimes make it hard to [...]
Living in Hawaii, and especially here in Iroquois Point, aircraft flying overhead is a very common site. The approach for Honolulu International Airport comes in right over our house.
Every once in a while I’ll take my camera out back and grab a few pictures.
Today’s Hawaii Picture of the Day is a US Air Force [...]
Update/Disclaimer: As of April 2009 I no longer live in Hawaii. (military giveth, military taketh away) Therefore I can not vouch for the currency or accuracy of the information below. If anybody out there who still lives in Hawaii does have more current data on the grey boat schedule, please feel free [...]

The Waianae mountain range is in the background.
Stay tuned for more Hawaii Pictures [...]
For people who’ve spent any amount of time on the windward side of Oahu, the image above may be a familiar sight. It’s a CH-53 Sea Stallion flying out of Marine Corps Base Hawaii at Kaneohe Bay.
I took this picture from a pontoon boat out on the bay (which can be rented from the [...]
I had to bring my camera and tripod to work today … apparently I’m the unit’s “camera guy”.
We needed to have a flight picture to celebrate our recent award as the Air Force Weather small unit of the year. This is a pretty big deal actually … for a unit to win an Air [...]
On just about any Saturday or Sunday afternoon, the parking lot between Burger King and the Commissary on Hickam AFB is the place to go to get your car washed. Each unit on the base is allowed to hold two fundraisers per quarter, and washing cars is by far the most profitable method many [...]
All this week, I’m attending a computer class at Hickam AFB. Seeing as how I live in Iroquois Point, all the way at the end of Ewa Beach, this presents me with the possibility of getting stuck in traffic jams and “enjoying” the comfort of my car for at least an hour each way.
Fortunately, [...]
